From Swamp Goblins to Photo Shoots: The Hilarious and Real Journey of Fitness and Life

February 18, 2026

Hey there! Ginny here with Nacho Fitness Coach, your go-to podcast for people who want to get healthy… but also wouldn’t mind a nap. 😅

On today’s episode, Sarah (personal trainer and recovering perfectionist) and Caleigh (fitness newbie, realist, and professional nap enthusiast) share their wild, funny, and surprisingly relatable journeys—from pregnancy memories to body transformations and planning the ultimate fitness photo shoot.

Nacho Fitness Coach Guides: Fitness Without the BS

First things first, we did something big (and not another questionable Caleigh idea… okay, maybe a little). We created downloadable fitness guides for real people, packed with:

  • The Crap Fitness Told You: Myth-busting for all your fitness confusion
  • Quit Being a Little Bitch: 30-day challenges to build habits
  • Workouts That Don’t Suck: Fast, effective, and actually enjoyable
  • Feed Yourself, Damn It: Simple meal plans that won’t ruin your life

Plus, you can grab bundles: Half-assed, BS-free basics, or literally everything you need except willpower. Download, print, fridge-tape, or just let them collect digital dust—no judgment. Check them out at nachofitnesscoach.com.

Pregnancy Flashback: The Float Parade Moment

Flashback: Both Sarah and Caleigh were seven months pregnant at a parade. Sarah was lifting weights on a float, Caleigh was on the sidelines thinking, “She’s not as pregnant as me.” Spoiler alert: they had the exact same due date.

Fast forward to delivery day: Sarah was induced on August 11th, laboring into the night, while Caleigh had her baby around the same time. Wild coincidence? Absolutely. This story perfectly illustrates how fitness journeys—and friendships—can start in the most unexpected ways.

Life Lessons: Relationships, Money, and Growing Up

Caleigh reflects on marrying young and the realities of adult life:

  • Being financially dependent early on can be risky
  • College degrees don’t always equal financial freedom
  • Early career struggles teach important life lessons

Sarah contrasts this with meeting her partner later in life, having experienced relationships, careers, and personal growth first. Both perspectives show there’s no single “right way” to adulting, but learning about yourself and your priorities is key.

Body Changes Over Time: The Face, the Seatbelt, the Jeans

We all have our physical red flags:

  • Sarah notices changes in her face and jawline first
  • Caleigh keeps track of body changes via seatbelt snugness (yep, that’s a real thing!)

Both agree: fitness isn’t just about the scale—it’s about body composition, health, and confidence. And yes, even your wardrobe (goodbye, jeans, hello, forgiving leggings) can be a subtle indicator.

Fitness Goals: The Nacho Fitness Coach Photo Shoot

Inspired by past competitions, the duo is planning a goal-oriented photo shoot:

  • Hair, makeup, spray tans, lighting—the works
  • A potential group event for Nacho Nation fans
  • Using accountability to push each other toward peak fitness

As they point out, investing in yourself—whether for health or a photo shoot—is way cheaper than hospital bills or regret later. 💪

The Fun Takeaway

This episode isn’t just about fitness. It’s about friendship, growth, laughing at life’s chaos, and keeping it real while navigating health, body image, and goals.

So whether you’re a new mom, a fitness newbie, or someone who just wants to go lay down for a bit, there’s a little something for everyone here.

Let’s be honest— dry needling has become one of the hottest trends in recovery and pain relief. But here’s the real question: 👉 Is it actually fixing the issue… or just poking at the symptoms? 💉 What Is Dry Needling (Really)? Dry needling is a technique used to relieve muscle tightness and trigger points by inserting thin needles directly into the muscle. It’s often praised for: Reducing pain quickly Improving mobility Releasing muscle tension Sounds like a magic fix, right? Not so fast. ⚠️ The Problem: Relief vs. Real Results Here’s where things get interesting. Dry needling can absolutely make you feel better —but that doesn’t always mean it’s solving the root cause of your pain. 👉 Think of it like this: It’s great at turning off the alarm, but not always great at fixing why the alarm went off in the first place. 🧠 Are You Treating the Symptom… or the Cause? Most muscle pain doesn’t just “happen.” It’s usually caused by: Poor movement patterns Muscle imbalances Weakness or instability Overuse without proper recovery If those aren’t addressed, the pain will likely come back—no matter how many needles you use. 🔄 When Dry Needling Actually Helps To be clear—dry needling isn’t useless. It can be incredibly effective when used as part of a bigger plan that includes: ✔ Strength training ✔ Mobility work ✔ Proper recovery strategies ✔ Movement correction 👉 In other words, it should support your progress—not replace it. 🚫 The Denial Trap Here’s the hard truth: It’s easy to rely on quick fixes because they’re convenient. But long-term results require addressing the habits and patterns causing the issue. So ask yourself: 👉 Am I fixing the problem—or avoiding it? ✅ The Bottom Line Dry needling can be a helpful tool—but it’s not the whole solution. If you want lasting results: Focus on movement quality Build strength where you’re weak Stay consistent with your routine 👉 Because real progress doesn’t come from shortcuts—it comes from strategy.
